DEPARTMENT / BRANCH PROFILE:
Pharmacy Services will provide dispensary and clinical services to neonatal, pediatric, obstetrical and gynecological patients of all specialties. Dispensary services will be delivered through our inpatient pharmacy to all inpatients and outpatient dispensary services will also be available through our outpatient dispensary. Clinical pharmacy services will be focused on our inpatient population, however such services will also be provided to specialized outpatient clinics on a consult basis.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for providing clinical pharmacy services on a daily basis in a speciality clinical area or various clinical areas as determined by hospital needs. In addition, The Clinical Pharmacist will participate in education and research activities, drug protocol management, drug use evaluation, and provide pharmacy dispensing services.

KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Participates in patient care rounds
- Performs medication reconciliation on admission and discharge
- Performs therapeutic drug level monitoring and adjustments
- Provides medication counseling to patients and families
- Monitors and reports adverse drug reactions
- Verifies medication orders for accuracy and clinical appropriateness
- Checks medications prepared by Pharmacy Technicians for accuracy prior to dispensing
- Provides in-service education to pharmacy and non-pharmacy personnel
- Precepts pharmacy students and pharmacy residents
- Participates in drug use evaluation and drug protocol management
- Initiates and supports clinical research activities
- Sits on committees as required to provide recommendations pertaining to medication use and processes
- Adheres to Sidras standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies
- In view of the developing and changing needs and opportunities within Sidra during this start-up phase, this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned and reporting relationships may vary

Requirements

- BSc - Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or MSc, Master of Science in Pharmacy.
- All degrees must have been obtained from an ACPE accredited college of Pharmacy or equivalent.
- Doctor of Pharmacy Degree is preferred (but not essential)
- Residency or fellowship in a pediatric specialty area
- 3+ years experience in 300+ bed Hospital in North America or equivalent in UK, Republic of Ireland, EU States, South Africa, Australia or New Zealand
- Clinical pharmacy experience in a pediatric hospital setting.

Certification and Licensure:
- Licensed in Pharmacy in country of origin - Obtain State of Qatar Pharmacy License after On boarding.

Professional Membership:
- Member of professional hospital pharmacy association in country of origin.
