Pipeline Technician – Mechanical Engineering

Job description / Role

Our client is one of the world’s leading petroleum brands and they are currently looking to recruit a Pipeline Technician, reporting to the Gas Transmission Supervisor, to join its Gas Operations team in Sharjah.

Your responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):

• Carrying out routine mechanical maintenance work at metering and regulating stations and on the pipeline according to an established programme
• Carrying out emergency repairs after hours using specially equipped emergency vehicle
• Carrying out a rota-organised on-call duty responsibility out of normal working hours
• Greasing valves at block valve stations according to specifications, and checking protective fencing
• Taking and recording readings at various cathodic protection test points along the pipeline and reporting low reading or other abnormalities to Supervisor for necessary action

Requirements

This is an exciting role which requires only applicants with at least 3 years experience in gas operations and pipeline maintenance work. If you are not working in this field or living in the UAE currently, please note we will not be able to process your application.

Our client is seeking a candidate who has completed Secondary education and 2 years full time in mechanical trades training. You must also have:

• Good command of the English language
• Valid UAE driving license
• Desert driving skills
