Planner - Dubai - Developer

The ultimate role of the planner is to build a model that enables you to predict which activities and resources are critical to the timely completion of the project. Strategies may then be implemented to ensure that these activities and resources are managed property, thus ensuring that the project will be delivered both On Time and Within Budget.

The Planning Role aims to.
- Identify the total scope of the project and plan to deliver it.
- Evaluate different project delivery methods.
- Identify Products/Deliverables required to deliver a project under a logical breakdown of the project.
- Identify and optimize the use of resources and evaluate if target dates may be met,
- Identify risks, plan to minimize them and set priorities.
- Provide a baseline plan against which progress is measured.
- Assist in stakeholders' communication, Identifying what is to be done, when and by whom and
- Assist management to think ahead and make informed decisions

The Planning Role helps to avoid or assist in evaluating;
- Increased project costs or reduction in scope and/or quality,
- Additional changeover and/or operation costs,
- Extensions of time claims against your customer or client
- Loss of revenue
- Contractual disputes and associated resolution costs.
- The loss of reputation of those involved in a project, and
- Loss of a facility or asset In the event of a total project failure

Pre-Construction

The planner will undertake the following key roles:
- Develop Strategic Development Programme
- Develop phasing diagrams.

Along with the above the development planner will also be required to undertake the following secondary role where required.
- Develop trade & vehicle histograms.
- Review contractor capabilities.
- Assist the in pre-construction team where necessary

Production

During production planner will undertake the following key roles:
- Develop the Master Development Programme
- Identify the critical path milestone schedule
- Construct and manage a detailed construction delivery programme
- Monitor the Master Development Programme, and provide monthly updates on progress
- Develop and maintain the programme Risk Registers
- Review the critical path milestone schedule
- Develop phasing diagrams
- Attend contractor progress meetings
- Attend team meetings

Requirements

Along with the above the construction planner will also be required to undertake the following secondary role where required.
- Develop trade & vehicle histograms
- Review contractor capabilities
- Cost & resource load programmes and ensure they reflect accurate phasing
- Maintain regular progress reviews and updates
- Be single point of contact for all aspects of planning for the respective projects /schemes
- Assist in the evaluation of programme risks and production of schedule risk analysis reports

During the team and contractor progress meetings the following would need be discussed;
- Current Progress
- Key Issues
- Next weeks work
- Contractor performance
- Areas of concern
- Detailed activity sequencing

Post meting the planner would be responsible for liaising with the necessary persons/contractors/consultants and developing the required documentation, whether that be programmes, logistics, histograms etc.
