Project / business overview
A leading consultancy in transport, development and natural resources, Halcrow is part of CH2M HILL Company who employs around 30,000 people. The company has a well-established network of more than 80 offices around the world, from which we contribute to commissions in over 90 countries.
The Urban Water Practice in our Natural Resources Practice Area houses experts on most aspects of water supply and treatment, sewerage networks, wastewater treatment and solid waste management. Our work includes master planning, feasibility studies, design, project management, contract preparation and construction supervision.

A key project in the Urban Water portfolio is the Lusail Development in Qatar - a 35 km of undeveloped waterfront overlooking the crystal clear Gulf being transformed into a progressive, world-class city where 200,000 people will live and work. Halcrow currently has a number of vacancies for this project, please read further for greater detail on the specifics requirements of this role.

Key role objective

The Planner is responsible for the overall evaluation and control of the project schedules related to construction packages.
Key areas of responsibility

The priorities of this role include:

Monitors, analyses and reports performance to schedule of project.
Ensures all parties are fully aware of project schedule activities, delay etc.
Coordinates the resolution of discrepancy reports, incorrect scheduling etc.
Provides guidance and expert advice to PM/CRE on planning issues.
Manages the performance and service delivery of the project.
Deals with any other duties that may be assigned by the PM/CRE.
Coordinates with other disciplines regarding schedule changes, discrepancies etc.
Coordinates with contractors regarding schedule discrepancies, changes etc.
Reports overall schedule and performance reports to PM/PMC.
Analyses and interprets construction bills of materials, scopes, specifications etc. to determine if schedule is achievable.
Monitors work schedule and report to PM/CRE.
Analyses programmes, assesses and resolve programme conflicts.
Attend contractor's progress meetings.

Basic Qualifications

Key Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge. These points should align with the key areas of responsibility:

Experience in the construction of large civil/structural and/or industrial projects on similar contract size and conditions applicable for the assignment at domestic and/or foreign locations.
Organised and proactive.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of staff and external Clients/Contacts.
Team player and with good leadership skills.
Primavera and Microsoft software skills essential.
Good report writing skills.

Minimum qualifications

10 years experience preferably from the Client/Consultant side and 5 years experience in the Middle East.
Bachelor degree in related Engineering discipline.
