Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Reporting to the President Coordinator, the Senior Planning Engineer will be required to provide Asset cost evaluation of all aspects of KECs (assets / projects / initiatives.)
- Ensure consistency in approach, delivery and continual improvement of KECs Project Cost Management processes and procedures
- Provide leadership/guidance in the development of databases to support field development/prospect evaluation for the country offices.
- Provide analytical interpretation of cost information in relation to progress / earned value / change / risk.
- Provide input to economic evaluations
- Liaise with project teams to provide cost phasing information
- Establish the development of a cost database to reflect trends and budget / actual analysis
- Manage and maintain the cost control specific tools within the organization
- Oversee the application of information technology to project controls
- Prepare and manage budgets and forecasts in conjunction with budget holders.
- Identify and quantify emerging changes and report cost deviations
- Assist with the close out of all projects and prepare look back reports
- Analyze industry studies and assist with the preparation of recommendations on business opportunities.
- Some international travel will be required.

Requirements

- Tertiary qualifications in engineering.
- Significant relevant experiences should include upstream oil and gas industry including familiarity with all modern petroleum industry cost analysis packages.
- A working knowledge of cost probabilities and associated software
- A working knowledge of economic indicators eg. EP, NPV, DCF, EMV, etc.
- Knowledge of all phases associated with project execution (eg. Front end design, Fabrication)
- Knowledge of standard engineering documents (eg. FDP, equipment lists, weight reports, etc.)

- 10 years in energy, resource or Engineering sector
- Extensive experience in the resource or energy sector in an Engineering/field development planning/cost and project team/Business Planning team environment.
- Primary experience should be in construction and maintenance of complex Engineering models with a high level of modeling accuracy, and provision of cost and technical advice to asset managers and senior management.

The Senior Planning Engineer must be self-motivated, have effective intra-team communication skills. Working knowledge of Quester.
