Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job Summary :
Responsible for the planning of the civil and fibre optic networks.

Main Responsibilities:
- Planning of the required civil infrastructure and fibre optic networks.
- Prepare the fibre optic network plans in accordance with our client's design guidelines.
- Review the FTTH network High Level designs provided by the vendors.
- Challenge and critically review the contractors/ vendors design to ensure that the high level design complies with the predefined area requirements & design rules and provides the best balance between cost, feasibility and time to market
- Assist in the development and management of all records and associated documentation relevant to the network planning.
- Prepare Feasibility studies (network design and the estimated cost) for the new projects.
- Provide expert level knowledge when developing, testing and documenting potential ad-hoc solutions created for special customers.
- Network forecast projections.
- Identify critical issues within the existing network and recommend the most appropriate solution.
- Perform analysis of and recommendations for different technical options.
- Foresee our client's networks capacity and resiliency minimizing single points of failure.
- Prepare/update our client's planning practices and guidelines.
- Prepare activity and progress reports.
- This covers the key responsibilities to be performed, but is not all inclusive. It doesnt preclude other responsibilities from being assigned and undertaken.

Requirements

Educational Qualifications & Certifications:
- Bachelors degree (preferably in Telecommunications or Network Engineering or related field including Electrical Engineering) or equivalent
- Hands on experience in GIS system (e.g: NE) and AutoCAD is a must.
- Hands on experience in Google Map and Computer Applications (i.e. MS Office)

Experience:
At least 3 years of progressive experience within the telecommunications industry particularly in planning and design of fiber networks (specially in FTTH networks).
