The Role


As a provider of multi-disciplined technical services to the built environment, Atkins Middle East is committed to design excellence in the delivery of first class solutions which combine, innovation, imagination and best practice.

We currently require an experienced Planning Engineer to work on a variety of construction projects. As a first assignment the Planning Engineer would be engaged on the Dukhan Highways Project

Working in a multidiscipline team of designers and engineers providing a comprehensive service to our clients, this is a great opportunity to gain experience within an internationally renowned consultant, affording the opportunity to work on large and small scale multidiscipline projects, in Qatar.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of the planning and programming of the works.
• Responsible for the compilation of the monthly reports.
• Checking and monitoring the co tractors programmes.
• Monitoring progress.
• Working with the Senior Quantity Surveyor on claims and the assessments of any extensions of time.

Requirements

• Degree qualified in an appropriate discipline from an accredited internationally recognized institution or university.
• Minimum 7 years relevant experience and qualifications in major highway projects with particular emphasis on the utilization and demonstrated knowledge of the Primavera Suite of programs.
• Able to demonstrate drive, enthusiasm and commitment to projects
• Excellent planning and organisation skills
• Able to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a proactive manner
• Excellent communication skills – written and spoken English
