The RoleThe RolePOSITION OVERVIEW: Under general supervision, develops plans for utilization of land and physical facilities of cities, counties, and metropolitan areas, applying diverse knowledge of planning principles and practices. The Planner at this level applies experience and increasing proficiency in the use of urban / environmental planning theories, practices, and company policies. Some assignments involve application of computer software. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs various assignments requiring conventional planning expertise, but may include some difficult planning and coordination requirements. Gathers, compiles, and analyzes data on economic, social, and physical factors affecting land use. Confers with local authorities, civic leaders, social scientists, and land planning and development specialists to devise and recommend arrangements of land and physical facilities for residential, commercial, transportation, industrial, and community uses. Develops recommendations based on governmental measures affecting land use, public utilities, community facilities, housing, and transportation to control and guide community development and renewal. Prepares, coordinates, and facilitates public involvement and consensus-building meetings and workshops. Reviews and evaluates environmental impact reports. Assists in coordinating Reuse and Redevelopment Master Plans. May coordinate the work of technicians and/or lower-level Planners. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. Independently perform the role of Planning and Scheduling Engineer for the project |
RequirementsRequirementsEDUCATION & QUALIFICATION: B.E. (Civil Engineering) 12 years experience, of which at least 10 in medium to large-scale highway projects Minimum 5 experience should be as a planner/ scheduler Must have a high command of written and spoken English for speaking and writing Must have safety awareness and training Must have minimum experience of 5 years in QS/ estimating/ planning/ progress monitoring & reporting/ resource assessment/ assessment of production Must have sound knowledge of Primavera and other related software Must have sound knowledge of scheduling, progress measurement and monitoring, progress reporting, supervision procedures, record keeping, reports, etc, Must have knowledge of international standards and conditions of contracts such as US, European standards and codes Must have the ability to prepare progress reports and charts Must be experienced in professional interfacing with the Client, contractor and his representatives |
