Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- The Planning Engineer is responsible for the supervision and co-ordination of all activities of the planning functions.

- Preparation, submission and updating of the following baseline programmes:
a.Project detailed construction programm
b.Project material procurement schedule
c.Project shop drawings schedule
d.Project cost load schedule
e.Project labor histograms

- Follow-up subcontractors programmes and coordination with Project Construction Programme.

- Initiation / responding to all planning / time related correspondence to Consultant / subcontractors.

- Attend all Site coordination meetings with Consultant / Subcontractors.

- Co-ordination (or supervision) the preparation of cost / time impact studies on variations to project to determine whether the claim is warranted in conjunction with the project Manager and Quantity surveyor.

- Maintenance of production rates for equipment and labor for all trades.

- Liaison, preparation and issue of all time impact programmes to substantiate / support claims (if applicable) at the post Construction stage.

- Prepare feedback for all production rates of all tasks at the post construction stage.

- Preparation and maintenance of the project As Built programme and close out schedule.

- Prepares and regular updates, and tracks schedule of resources (plant and manpower to meet activities milestones.

- Prepares regular updates, and tracks material schedules (submissions, approvals, orders, deliveries in accordance with contract schedule ensuring timely availability of materials whilst

- Performs weekly backups of all modified and submitted schedules.

- Liaise with the relevant site authorities and departments to expedite document processes. (Submission, approval, orders etc.) To commence a work activity and avoid slippage, all coordinated with the PM and PCM in particular.

Requirements

Bachelor in Civil Engineering having a minimum construction experience of 12 years (for Seniors) and 8 years (for Medium) and 4 years (for Junior), with leading contracting companies. Must be proficient in Primavera and Excel spreadsheet software and be able to set up project plans independently in excess of 5000 activities with resource loading, updates and reports. Knowledge of cost control is an advantage.
