Job description / Role
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Planning Engineer shall develop and maintain schedules for all the projects. The Planning Engineer shall track Progress, Man hours and Cost as compared to the schedule. The Planning Engineer shall define the staffing requirements for the office considering the current workload and the expected projects. The Planning Engineer shall assist the Project Managers to perform financial analysis related to projects. Work with the Finance department staff in all issues related to the time charging of staff. Assist the Project Manager to execute projects on schedule and within budget. Planning Engineer shall also develop schedules for proposals.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and maintain schedule for all the projects.
Provide feedback to Management regarding staffing requirements based on project schedules and loading.
Assist the Project Manager in the preparation of Project Management Plan.
Tracking Progress, Man hours and Cost as compared to schedule.
Periodical reports to clients and Management as required.
Advising Project Manager of adverse schedule, man hour and cost variation, if any.
Advising Project Manager of necessity of overtime to meet project milestones.
DESIRED RESULTS
Provide adequate support to the Project Managers in project execution per schedule.
Ensure the usage of correct works basis by all department personnel.
Proper coordination with other disciplines.
Ensure standards used are current.
Provide the required input during the preparation of technical proposals.
Increase client satisfaction.
Improve client communications.
Decrease errors in the works output.
Reduce the man hour expenditure for works output.
Requirements
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Engineering Degree (BSc) with extensive planning and scheduling experience in engineering design/consulting offices.
Planning Engineer shall have good written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge in the usage of PRIMAVERA is a must for this position.
Planning Engineer shall be experienced in pricing of proposals.
Planning Engineer shall be capable of effectively communicating the project schedule requirements to personnel involved in the project execution.
