Planning Manager - General Contracting Company - Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

We have been instructed by an Asian owned major international group to assist them in recruiting a top level Planning Manager to lead their planning team for their construction arm in Kuala Lumpur.

Our client has a turnover of in excess of USD$6BN and has an interest in construction contracting, property development, hotels and resorts, utilities and power as well as other areas.

The client is a general contracting firm specialising in mixed build and civils projects. They are looking for a senior Planning Manager with experience of leading multiple projects internationally. The existing team in Malaysia requires a strong leader to modernise the work process and to mentor and lead an existing planning team who are made up of a predominantly local workforce.

You will be tasked with leading the team responsible for planning and preparing project construction schedules both pre and post award. You will also be required to visit a range of site locations in order to fulfil your role.

The client is expecting to see the following key competences.
- Degree in Civil engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in building construction. Experience of high rise development is essential.
- Experience in construction management, planning and scheduling gained from international projects.
- Knowledge in construction, execution, site logistics, work flow and implementation.
- Exposure to architectural design planning.
- Hands on experience with Primavera and MS Project software.
- Excellent leadership qualities and communication skills in English.
- A modern way of approaching planning for major projects gained from recent experience with a major blue chip contractor.
