Plant Engineer

Job description / Role

A leading geotechnical contract in the Middle East now recruiting for an experienced Plant Engineer to join their team in Doha, Qatar. TO APPLY FOR THIS ROLE YOU MUST BE BASED IN QATAR AND ABLE TO OBTAIN AN NOC
- Work with plant engineer and plant manager, taking advice on important issues, in order for assigned plant tasks to be executed efficiently.
- Monitor site equipment, maintaining maintenance and repair records, producing effective equipment preventative maintenance programmes and regular reports for the attention of the Chief Engineer.
- Attend to Equipment Maintenance Schedule approved by Plant Manager
- Lead and monitor Workshop teams, coordinating with workshop Foreman, and manpower daily tasks to ensure smooth, efficient running of all activities.
- Maintain Minimum stock of spare parts which regularly needed to reduce repair time.
- Ensure quality of the repair and fabrication jobs.
- Coordinate with third parties to execute necessary procedures for equipment inspection and calibration activities and to ensure timely release of appropriate report to Chief Engineer.
- Responsible for responding to instructions for the assembling, and vice versa, of equipment ensuring all equipment repairs are carried out accordingly and as per instruction from Chief Engineer.
- Actively prepare equipment preventative maintenance programmes in order to allocate manpower effectively for equipment investigation, maintenance and repair.
- Monitor abilities and skills of taskforce in order to provide advice for Plant Manager in terms of training of team members.

Requirements

- Degree in mechanical engineering.
- Minimum 5 years experience in plant equipment repair and maintenance of Bauer rigs, liebherr rigs , hitachi crawler cranes, vibrators , Kelly bars repair and fabrication drawings
- Computer literate with excellent report writing skills. -Excellent verbal and written English, Arabic is an advantage.
- Experience in Health and Safety application is essential.
- Good communication up to and including a multi-cultural level. Skilled in report writing.
