Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

AED 25K - 38K + Benefits

To monitor the breakdowns of equipment and record repairs carried out on sites. Control central spare parts store, maintain sufficient stock levels and monitor spare parts usage. Ensure all equipment returned from sites is fully repaired in accordance with the written report from the Chief Maintenance Engineer. Maintain asset register and make recommendations regarding replacement or new equipment purchases.

To fabricate additional items required for various projects in a timely and cost effective manner. Ensure equipment is transported to and from sites in a timely manner. It is envisaged that the majority of the time will be spent at the Plant Yard at Al Dhaid.

Review current condition of all equipment and assist the Chief Maintenance Engineer to prepare maintenance schedules for each item in order to keep the equipment in good condition and to reduce breakdowns to a minimum

Maintain spare parts records, order replacements and monitor usage. Ensure minimum level of critical spare parts are in stock at all times.

Manage and coordinate yard resources with other divisions to ensure that all equipment is repaired and ready for deployment to the next site allocation. Ensure all equipment documentation (Certificates of Origin, test certificates etc.) is up to date and arrange all transport to & from sites accordingly.

Fabricate items of ancillary equipment as & when required by various project sites

Major challenges

Our equipment is highly specialized with the new generation being computer controlled. Project periods are limited so high production rates are required and breakdowns are to kept to a minimum. Project durations are usually short and coordination of transport is to be closely controlled.

As the Plant and Yard Manager you will be responsible for the maintenance of the equipment on the sites (manage the maintenance staff) you must be aware of all the 30 -40 varieties of equipment.

Requirements

• Formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering
• Knowledge of diesel engines & hydraulic systems
• Organizational skills to maintain records
• Computer proficient
• Strong personality for managing staff situations
• Analytical and decision making skills
