Job description / Role
General Tasks:
Preparation of proposals
Consultancy services and operation trouble-shooting
Techno-Economical and Feasibility studies
Presentations
Commissioning and operation support
Engineering work in all phases of an EPC project (i.e. Process Engineering, Basic Engineering, Detail
Engineering)
Project management
Conceptual Design / Process Engineering:
Concept verification and development
Preparation of process flow diagrams (PFD's)
Performing plant simulation and preparation of heat and material balances
Preparation of process datasheets and project specification
Equipment selection and sizing
Test run
Process and Environmental Safety Engineering:
Pressure & Temperature Design / Safeguarding
Design of safety valves and rupture discs and flare system
Explosion and fire protection
Air and water pollution control
Safety studies
Systems Engineering:
Preparation of piping and instrument diagrams (PID's)
Numerical work for piping and instrumentation diagrams
Hydraulic design of piping and the different types of valves
Instrument basic specification
Preparation of operation manual
Operator training
Plant commissioning
Requirements
Requirement:
B.E. or M. Tech. in Chemical Engineering.
Minimum 10 years of experience in the field of process engineering and plant operation in polyolefin plants.
Working skills comprise Techno Economic Studies; Revamp (and grass root) projects.
Experience in plant operation, optimization and trouble-shooting.
In depth knowledge of Design, Engineering and HSE standards i.e. ASME, ASTM, API, NFPA, EPA, OSHA, etc.
Hands-on preparation of heat and material balance with process simulator Aspen, Unisim, etc.
Expertise in equipment sizing & selection, system hydraulics calculations, safety valves, control valves & flare sizing, PFD’S, P&ID’s & control logics development.
Hands on experience of using HTRI & HTFS for heat exchanger design.
Experience in HAZOP/PHA/LOPA studies.
Experienced in using Microsoft Office.
Language skills: English & Arabic (fluently).
Customer oriented, dynamic and flexible personality.
