Power Engineer

Job description / Role

- To engineer -48V DC power systems, ranging from 1 KW to 200 kW output for various Telecom Sites in compliance with internal and external customer requirements and contractual Commitments.
- Evaluate Site Survey Reports, verify equipment requirement (Scope Work+BOQ) with Corresponding Element engineers, fill-up Fuse Assignment Request Form & submit to STC to get approval to connect additional telecom equipment into existing DC plants.
- Specify Bill of Quantity (BOQ) / Contract Unit List CUL) for additional power equipment if required.
- Prepare Power Office Data Manual (ODM) to be incorporated into corresponding Elements MOP and/or prepare Power Method of Procedure (MOP) if separate Power Scope of work (SOW) is received from STC.
- Coordinate with CAD operator to incorporate footprint on Floor Plan lay-out for additional power equipment.
- Coordinate with local/international suppliers for equipment availability & provide information to Procurement group to place the order for the required additional power equipment.
- Advice internal departments and STC counterparts on DC power issues.
- Maintain Project Status file.

Requirements

- Engineering Sizing principles for Rectifiers, Batteries, load Distribution, Inverters & power cable.
- Installation & Testing/Commissioning
- Operation & Maintenance

Bachelor of Science in:
- Electrical Engineering, 4 years of experience or
- Telecommunications Engineering, 7 years of experience

OTHER SKILL SETS REQUIRED:
- Good Computer Experience with Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, Access, Visio, PPt.)
- Good command of English, verbally and in writing.
- Communication skills
- Teamwork
- Driving
