Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

We are looking for a Power Generation Manager to ensure that the generator fleet is operated in the most cost effective manner. To also ensure the availability of generators at any given point within the specified locations.
The responsibilities of the Power Generation Manager will include but are not limited to the below:
•Improve profitability through increased effective operation of existing generators through direct supervision of all servicing and repairs thereby improving the services rendered to all customers in accordance with specific contractual obligations
• To ensure the generator fleet is maintained, serviced and any faults are rectified in a timely and cost effective manner
•Co-ordinate replenishment of repair parts and components for all generators within the location
Responsible for the improvement of all generator servicing and on-going maintenance in order to deliver optimum quality and performance to the Customer
• To manage and be accountable for all current and existing generators on site
• Will be responsible to manage the activities of on-site tradesmen to meet agreed customer service levels, and agreed serviceability targets.
•To oversee and manage the daily Preventative Maintenance program and to ensure maintenance is carried out as effeciently as possible
•Ensure that records of servicing and repairs are accurately maintained
To advise the various Business Units of impending shutdowns at least 24 hours in advance.

Requirements

Power Distribution experience and knowledge of all electrical requirements for power distribution in remote locations.
Qualified to maintain or repair Field Power Distribution Systems, and Generators
Sound experience and knowledge of maintenance operations in remote areas with a minimum two years experience as a maintenance technician.
Thorough knowledge of Mechanical Services, Field Power Distribution Systems and Synchronization Panels of Diesel Generator Sets.
Proven experience in managing a team of trades persons.
