Precast Operations Manager

Based in Bahrain, one of the more relaxed G.C.C. States, this is an exciting opportunity to manage the production at one of the most professional precast companies operating in the Middle East. Established for over 30 years, this British managed company offers an extensive product range which includes Architectural Cladding, Boundary Walls, Precast Framed Buildings, G.R.C., Bridge Beams, Hollowcore, Pressed Products and Civil Engineering Elements.

Managing a skilled workforce of 300+, the role involves full responsibility for all aspects of production and erection.

Production Management

Dayto-day supervision and management of precast production; including mould fabrication, carpentry shop, steel fixing, casting, stripping, storage, loading, press production and stressing.
Management of production planning and scheduling to ensure the most efficient use of companies assets.
To ensure the company operates at the lowest practicable production cost.

Precast Erection

Dayto-day supervision and management of the General Precast and Hollowcore erection teams.
Customer site liaison as required.

Health, Safety & Training

Understand, implement and manage compliance with the companys Health and Safety Policy and procedures.
Actively promote and communicate a positive health and safety culture.
Apply risk assessment process to identify risk to routine and non-routine activities, products, planned and un-planned changes affecting all personnel, contractors, business partners, suppliers and visitors.

Quality Management

To promote a quality culture within the team to ensure that the product supplied meets the customers expectations and requirements.
Identification of causes of quality failures and implementing remedial action.

Plant and Equipment

Ensure that the precast equipment, gantry cranes, hydraulic presses and stressing equipment are maintained and that a proactive preventative planned maintenance program is adopted with the aim of optimising plant and equipment availability.
Assist with preparation of capital investment projects and implementation of same.
Analysis of plant and equipment performance to identify areas for improvement and implementing at reasonable cost.

Management of Staff

Review, control and authorisation of staff overtime.
Organisation of company staffing, including identifying new staffing needs.
Dealing with time keeping and disciplinary issues.
Staff development and coaching.

Precast Design Input

Assist the overall Precast Management team to ensure engineered precast solutions are developed to meet customer requirements

General

Generally be proactive using initiative and awareness to facilitate the smooth and efficient running of the department.

Requirements

An in-depth experience of precast production is essential; including knowledge of mould design, architectural coloured concrete finishes and steel reinforcement. You will be a production professional with strong leadership and communications skills able to work on your own initiative.
