Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Objectives:
- Lead and manage a team of up to 20 staff
- Devise and implement SOPs to ISO standards
- Responsible for entire pre press operations, layouts, plate making, die making, layout films, digital printouts
- Coordinate and deliver clients needs against tight deadlines

Managing Staff of:
Mac operators
Digital Machine operators
CTP plate makers

Main responsibilities:
- Ensure clear, consistent and relevant communication occurs to help deliver the company goals.
- Communicates regularly with the other departments to ensure good information and work flow.
- Work effectively with all members of the management and wider company teams to support the company values and develop a strong, empowered and highly skilled operation.
- Work closely with the planning personnel to improve design center efficiency.
- Work closely with the production manager to help implement the dept. operational plan.
- Manage colour management/colour profiles and how that relates to the print process (calibrating monitors/using colour profiling on images and documents).
- Can develop and implement best practice in the production of digital proofs.
- To develop and implement a training and development program for the center staff.
- Plan jobs to match with the production scedule in order to meet customer required delivery date.
- To check and clarify the integrity of all files that are received from external agencies or manufacturers and to ensure the structure and integrity of all artwork files are correct before creating a print ready PDF.
- Manage staff working hours, overtime and shift patterns

Duration: Permanent position

Requirements

- University Qualifications: Bachelor degree
- Nature and length of previous experience: 6 8 years experience
- Age Range: 30-45
- Specialist knowledge: customer orientation
- Expert knowledge of pre press operations and good knowledge printing & binding operations
- The person must have a great work ethic, enthusiastic and positive attitude together with a strong commitment to being the best and delivering excellence.
- Good leadership skills adopting a collaborative approach whilst ensuring the final goal is always delivered.
- Expert in PDF workflow, both Mac and PC platforms with the proven ability to trouble shoot Mac and PC files, corrections and proofing
- Expert knowledge of all Adobe programs including Indesign CS6, CC, Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark , and Page maker. Word, Publisher, Power Print and Excel experience is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills to maintain and develop SOPs
