Principal Engineer – Mechanical

Job description / Role

The Principal Engineer – Mechanical Services - has the following primary functions in their day to day responsibilities:

•Development and implementation of the highest levels of technical excellence for Mechanical Services design within the design centre in Dubai and the centre of expertise in Bangalore.
•Technical guidance, time management, personal development and mentoring for the mechanical engineers.
•Project leadership and ensuring that deliverables are achieved to the required quality, on time and to budget.
•Ensuring that the activities and deliverables of the design group are carried out in accordance with the Atkins Design Principles, international and local standards.

Whilst a certain level of autonomy is implied, a Principal Engineer maintains a reporting line to an associated Design Director at all times.
Outside of the design group, the Principal Engineer is tasked with providing regional technical and enquiry/bid support for their discipline under the auspices of the Design Centre Dubai Management Team.

Requirements

Requirements
•Degree qualified (as a minimum) in a relevant discipline
•Member of a Chartered institution (or equivalent)
•Minimum 15 years post graduate experience in Mechanical services design
•Excellent planning and time management skills
•Excellent team management skills
•Excellent technical knowledge of Mechanical Engineering Services design is essential. Knowledge of Local and International codes and requirements is essential.
•A sound understanding of sustainability issues and green building issues is required.
