Principal Engineer – Public Health Services

The Principal Engineer – Public Health Services has the following primary functions in their day to day responsibilities:

•Development and implementation of the highest levels of technical excellence for Public Health Services design within the design centre in Dubai and the centre of expertise in Bangalore.
•Head of Department responsibilities for the staff members in their nominated design group (currently circa 6-8 staff members), including technical guidance, time management, personal development and mentoring.
•Ensuring that the activities and deliverables of the design group are carried out in accordance with the Atkins Design Principles, international and local standards.

Whilst a certain level of autonomy is implied in their leadership position within a design group, a Principal Engineer maintains a reporting line to an associated Design Director at all times.
Outside of the design group, the Principal Engineer is tasked with providing regional technical and enquiry/bid support for their discipline under the auspices of the Design Centre Dubai Management Team.

Requirements

•Degree qualified (as a minimum) in a relevant discipline
•Member of a Chartered institution (or equivalent)
•Minimum 15 years post graduate experience in Public Health services design
•Excellent planning and time management skills
•Excellent team management skills
•Excellent technical knowledge of Public Health Services design is essential, including hot and cold water services systems design, foul and surface water drainage, fire fighting systems design. Knowledge of Local and International codes and requirements is essential.
•A sound understanding of sustainability issues and green building issues is required.
