Principal Geotechnical Engineer

Mott MacDonald Dubai are currently looking to recruit a Principal Engineer for the management of a range of geotechnical projects across the Middle East. Supporting the team, in particular supervision and support of junior engineers. GI contract administration and preparation of specifications; Interpretation and verification of ground investigation data and parameters to build up a ground model to assist in design Production of design solutions and drawings, covering a range of project requirements from new build to modification, maintenance, refurbishment and foundation design. Working with engineers of other disciplines in order to produce and integrate geotechnical assessments into the overall project delivery, ensuring that the geotechnical hazards and risks to a project are correctly assessed, brought into the solution and communicated Supporting Business Development activities and commitment to professional excellence.

Requirements

Chartered Civil/Geotechnical Engineer with preferably an MSc in Geotechnical Engineering; Ideally around 5 years of post-chartership experience successfully managing a range of projects and delivering these to the satisfaction of the client; Experience in GI contract administration and preparation of specifications; Experience in the production of geotechnical specifications and drawings for construction of marine and metro projects; Ability to lead and motivate more junior members of staff; Detailed knowledge of design codes and specifications relevant to geotechnical engineering; Experienced in using finite element modelling software; Ability to successfully communicate with all stakeholders within a project, who are both technical and non-technical; Ability to secure business from current clients and develop new business; Knowledge of construction and build ability issues also advantageous; A good geotechnical design track record in delivering marine and metro projects from concept to completion of construction.
