Employment: Full Time

Job Objective:

Provides direction and management for landscape projects and ensures on-schedule completion within or below budget in accordance with contractual obligations. Responsible for the scope development, scope management and commercial performance of the project to meet project goals and objectives. Has responsibility for all subtasks of the landscape program and interfaces with the landscape consultant(s) to monitor performance. Plans and defines program goals and devises methods to accomplish them; develops in-depth knowledge of client objectives, contract terms, and project policies. Must be capable of managing a program of integrated landscape works with multiple stakeholders and project partners.

Key Accountabilities:

• Responsible for the management of the landscape project managers, senior landscape architect(s) and Landscape Consultant(s) performance and adherence to budget and schedule.
• Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associated with the program.
• Review landscaping master plan and concept designs and provide feedback on design drawings and technical specifications.
• Reviews/comments on proposed technical deviations from approved landscape concepts so client can make informed decisions.
• Works to establish the requirements of the project, and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.
• Works with other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the various elements of the landscape project.
• Works with the key program individuals to devise and execute actions plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work. Advises the Project Manager of any such changes.
• The Principal Landscape Architect is specifically responsible for managing and timely closeout of change orders.
• Monitors and reports to the Senior Project Manager on the progress of all landscape project activities within the project, including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedule. Provides regular reports and presentations on progress to senior management and the client as necessary.
• Establishes weekly meeting to review project status and formulate action items.
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Requirements

Experience and Qualification:

• BSc Degree in Landscape Architecture or equivalent from an accredited college or university with major course work in landscape architecture.
• 15+ years of related work experience, a broad general hard and soft landscape construction background, and previous program management experience on similar or related project types is required.
• Proven ability to perform in a management role, good written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required. In addition, must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project.
• Western candidate or western educated is preferred.
