Job description / Role
Charterhouse is working with a global Engineering Consultancy who are looking to hire a Principal Process Safety Engineer to join their EPC division working on offshore and onshore Oil and Gas projects.
You will ensure the performance of loss prevention engineering activities and safety studies for project / proposal with the objective to achieve safe design and operation of facilitates as per the codes and requirements. This will include conceptualising the preliminary HSE and HSE philosophy as well as the development and review of safety designs for hazardous areas and safety equipment.
You will conduct performance reviews of safety studies such as QRA, FRA, HAZOP, HAZID including flare radiation and noise studies. You will also oversee the Engineers working on the process safety project to make sure the deliverables are met.
Requirements
The successful candidate should hold a bachelors Degree in chemical or mechanical engineering and have at least 15 years experience working in the Oil and Gas sector with a consultancy. You should have worked at a senior level in a loss prevention, technical safety or HSE design role for a minimum of 5 of the 15 years. In addition you should have advanced knowledge in QRA software such as PHAST, FRED or SAFETI and be conversant with HAZOP software and PIPENET.
