The RoleThe RoleThe Water and Power business group (WPBG) has over 300 staff in the Middle East region and a business with an annual turnover in excess of £10 million. Its main target countries are the UAE, Qatar, Libya and Saudi Arabia. Halcrows Water and Power Business Group recently won the largest single contract with ADDC related to Municipality works supervised by the organisation. As such, we are embarking on a large recruitment drive to staff these contracts across the emirate. The principal function of this position is to lead a site supervision team of 17 engineers in and to provide project management as required by the internal team. Project management of a site team comprising of approximately 17 engineers. Supervision of contractors, management of inspectors and surveyors and the provision of technical support as required. Providing regular client liaison and reports on project progress. Monitoring Health and Safety on site. Approving variation orders as appropriate. Assisting the wider business group with business development activities. Co-ordinating and interfacing with other consultants. |
RequirementsRequirementsThe ideal candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge: Experience of HV, EHV and substations. Experience of working on infrastructure projects is a must. Project management experience. Ability to prioritise work effectively. Familiarity with IEC standards. Design experience (all concept, preliminary and detailed) and awareness of QA/QC procedures. Excellent communication skills. Excellent inter-personal skills. Chartered Engineer with a BSc Electrical Engineering (Major in Power) or equivalent. Prior approval of ADWEA and subsidiary companies is an advantage but not essential. |
