The RoleThe RolePrincipal Scientist/Task Manager--Dubai, UAE POSITION OVERVIEW: Parsons is currently seeking experienced Environmental, Social-Economic, and Health Impact Assessment (ESHIA) professionals in our Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) office to work on large scale projects for the oil and gas industry. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Principal Scientist/Task Manager to lead team in technical areas of Physical Sciences, Natural Resources, Socioeconomic Evaluations, or Human Health and Safety to support the completion of an ESHIA. Specific responsibilities include: Develop work plans and coordinate the execution of field work Provide direction for the collection, organization and analysis of data from the field Coordinate the preparation of and write project technical reports Review work produced to ensure compliance with industry standards and company / clients procedures and that quality is acceptable. Assist in planning, directing, supervising, and controlling the execution of technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the project. Participates in determining the technical skills and staff hours required for successful completion of the project. Develop the scope of work, schedules, and budgets, and monitors progress to meet schedule and budget requirements. Identifies and documents changes in scope. Manage technical staff scheduling and professional development. Ensure client criteria and scope are met. Expedites distribution of action items following discussions/meetings with the client and Project Manager. Interface with Procurement and Subcontracts to facilitate procurement coordination with vendors/subcontractors. Provide management leadership on project safety, implementing Parsons safety procedures and plans Implement Parsons Project Quality Plan Implements Parsons Sustainability values on project |
RequirementsRequirementsREQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: BS / BA in Engineering, Natural Sciences, Physical Sciences or related degree to assignment 8 to 15 years of related work experience (MS is preferred). Preferred experience (not required): ESHIA and / or environmental assessment experience Oil and gas experience Working in developing countries Middle east experience Willingness to conduct business travel to southern Iraq Ability to speak Arabic SKILLS/COMPETENCIES: Requires excellent technical written and oral communication skills as well as be independent and resourceful. Must be able to plan, coordinate, and manage staff, technical meetings, webinars, and site visits. Must be proficient with Microsoft software.
