Principal Structural Engineer

Job description / Role

Purpose:
The role of the Principal Structural Engineer is to manage the development of functional designs for several projects in line with SSH quality standards, client and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities:
Analyze design codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents (survey reports, aerial photography or geologic data) to determine their effect on designs, and in keeping to statutory requirements, .
Provide technical guidance to the team on project issues and monitors outcome, serving as representative for all matters related to discipline, and where applicable discuss with clients.
Is sought out for technical expertise and knowledge and for troubleshooting complex technical issues within local office, and across regional offices.
Provides technical expertise in preparation for review budgets, bids, and contracts, where necessary liaises with clients, statutory authorities and other 3rd parties.
To input on policies, standards, or procedures for Design and technical work for the improvement of QA & IMS documentation

Requirements

Skills and Experience Required:
15+ years of post-graduate experience & understanding of standard industry software
Experience of working with International Consultants- required
Experience of working within a team of 20+
Experience of managing multiple projects simultaneously - desirable
Demonstrated specialised discipline skills on 5+ projects

Qualifications:
Relevant discipline Engineering Degree required; Masters level desirable
Data Management Systems Experience required - Deltek, Newforma, HR.Net advantage
Registered to relating professional body in country of origin and eligible for registration in local region - required (Location Dependent)
