We are looking for a Principal - Transport & Traffic Engineer to be based in Doha, Qatar.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Prepare fee proposal and agree with Business Centre Manger for submission to client, including resources and program
* Manage technical & engineering resources and activities of up to 6 consultants to achieve the technical delivery of project requirements and that outputs delivered are to appropriate standard, timely and within the Projects budget.
* Identify data and information required for project and appoint appropriate sub-consultants.
* Appoint and manage specialist consultancy appointments relating to statutory consents and other approvals, including Parliamentary Agents;
* Establish close working relationships with all key stakeholders in the consents & approvals process, including both internal and external stakeholders
* Manage consultations and communications with stakeholders both internal and external, statutory authorities, developers & other interested parties.
* Act as Project Manager as necessary.
* Professional advice relating to statutory consents and other approvals associated with major transportation infrastructure projects;
* Professional advice relating to engineering & technical matters;
* Technical Leadership of design activity.
* Optimum strategies for the identification, coordinated development and submission of applications for statutory consents and other approvals;
* Guidance and negotiation with design/project teams to secure appropriate and uniform supporting information for consents & approvals in line with published requirements, rules and guidelines, including preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments;
* Development of briefs for consultancy appointments in engineering, technical & other related areas.
* Professional advice & strategies relating to traffic & transportation matters.
* Develop briefs and manage specialist consultancy appointments relating to Transport Assessments matters; Engineering, technical & other related areas. Also, contribute and provide support during tender preparation, evaluation and contract awards.
* Guidance and negotiation with design/project teams to secure appropriate and uniform supporting information for traffic & transportation matters in line with published requirements, rules and guidelines
* Advice on the application of standard specifications, and development of project-specific specifications.
* Monitoring & review of the application of engineering processes & procedures

Requirements

Experience Required: 
* Minimum 10 years of experience in traffic engineering & transport planning
* Understanding of Qatar, UAE & Regional TIS guidelines & Procedures;
+ Reports to the Team Leader in Doha.
+ Day to day technical coordination & assistance in all Traffic Engineering & Transport Planning activities;
+ Key Focus on Technical Delivery in support to the TL

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
* Bachelor Degree Civil Engineering
* Masters Transport (preferable)
* Specialized in Transport Modeling Software & Transport Planning Principles
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* An ability to identify potential problems and propose solutions
* Ability to team build, organize staff and prioritize works
* Ability to work well within and lead a site based team of mixed nationalities
* Experience in Microsoft applications
* Ability to build rapport with work colleagues.
* Knowledge of International standards.
