About the Business Description and Desired Qualifications Project / business overview Continued growth and opportunities have led to an increased need for experienced water engineers to join the Urban Water team in the Sharjah office. The team deals with a range of public and private sector clients and provides specialist technical advisory and project management services on water industry projects in the Middle East Key role objective The principal function of this position is to take overall responsibility for the delivery of water projects. The role will include leading the preparation of offers under the guidance of the sales and leading the delivery of large water sector projects. Key areas of responsibility Lead multidisciplinary design teams, ensuring effective interfacing between the various disciplines/offices/sub consultants working on the project Ensuring statutory and regulatory requirements are met Assisting in the formation and development of successful Project teams Preparation and review of detailed design submissions prepared by team (e.g. specifications, calculations, site layouts, general arrangements, details) to ensure consistency Preparation and submission of deliverables to budget and programme constraints Fostering and developing the Client relationships. Expanding business with existing Clients. Support and mentor less experienced staff. Lead the preparation of commercial and technical bids |
RequirementsRequirementsBasic Qualifications Key requirements: The successful candidate should possess a relevant degree and be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience; Experience of working on large multi-displinary projects Significant experience in the water industry Experience of successfully leading the preparation of technical and commercial proposals Excellent inter-personal skills with the ability to motivate and lead teams to hit deadlines and maintain quality Ability to implement management systems and deliver to time in a structured manner with a quality result Demonstrate successful completion of at least one of the following from inception to construction Desalination plants Large water transmission pipelines Experience of working with Design & Build contractors would be an advantage Excellent communication skills in English (written and oral) Arabic speaking would be an advantage Minimum qualifications A relevant degree in engineering and chartered status (or equivalent) Additional details: We Offer: A commitment to your personal and professional development A package that recognises and rewards success An environment that encourages a healthy work life balance with flexible working conditions.
