Process Engineer (Water Treatment)

Job description / Role

We are looking for a Process Engineer (Water Treatment) to work for a contractor on a Water treatment plant in Oman

Job Role:
- The Jobholder is responsible for resolving technical and customer issues.
- The Jobholder reports to the Plants Engineering Department Manager.
- The Jobholder will be expected to travel as requested.
- Jobs at this level require independent decision taking.
- Lead, supervise and guide discipline-specific teams in the preparation and co-ordination of design basic or detail drawings ensuring deadlines are met and that work is completed to the required quality standards.
- Problems successfully resolved without unnecessary referral.
- Provide supervision and guidance on all design and technical matters.
- Quality and acceptability of output.
- Develop solutions to complex design problems using initiative and own acquired knowledge.
- Management recognizes effective leadership role.
- Establish, review, select and upgrade procedures practices, specifications, drawings and standard forms. Select Software as required. Define the interfaces with other engineering disciplines.
- Brings solution to complex problems or requiring specific skill.
- Supervise the expansion of the section, Develop personnel professional qualities.
- Recruitment of staff, Supporting section personnel, development and maintenance of training programs.
- Appraisal of individual and team performance.
- Providing clear direction to section and discipline members. Fostering team spirit through contemporary management methods.
- Assigning staff to tasks and projects, ensuring clear delegation of authority. Forecasting and monitoring man-hours, workload and resources requirements.
- In consultation with Proposals Manager, define proposal strategy, assign section personnel to proposal activities, arrange technical write-up's for proposal documents and provide all other discipline inputs to proposals.

Requirements

Requirements:
- Minimum; BSc in Process Engineering or similar.
- Preferably a Member, Institute of Professional Engineers, Chartered Engineer.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in water treatment.
- High level of commercial, cost and contractual awareness.
- Proven managerial skills.
- Strong communication, influencing and presentation skills.
- Good knowledge of codes and standards, especially of those related to job family.
- Knowledge of design software applications.
- Advanced technical knowledge.
- Managerial capabilities.
- Proven ability to coordinate.
- Must be EU nationality.
