Process Engineer

Job description / Role

Ensure technical reviews and compliance of process design engineering with Quality Management Systems to maintain and improve high quality deliverables to our clients.

Provide direct input to proposals, strategic plans, client presentations and contract negotiations. Makes presentations to management and clients.

Performs complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately.

Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings. Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs. Prepares engineering reports with minimal supervision.

Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.

Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
Prepares detailed specifications for equipment and materials. Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses. Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.

Provides technical guidance to CAD Designers, Drafters, and lower level Engineers working on the same project.

Completes other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Provide high quality process engineering inputs to a range of water related projects. Improve engineering design efficiency. Complete all projects on schedule and within man-hours and cost budgets.

Increase internal/external client satisfaction. Improve internal/external client communications. Decrease client changes.

Contribute in the preparation of competitive technical and commercial proposals. Contribute in developing new opportunities from new and existing clients.

Requirements

Degree in Chemical Engineering with 10 years postgraduate experience of process engineering design particularly wastewater treatment with progressively increasing responsibility. At least 2 years as a Senior Engineer with some responsible for supervision of design resources. Must include periods with large consultancy practice.

Experience of client relationship building.

Experienced in writing and pricing proposals and shall be capable of effectively communicating the project requirements to personnel involved in the project execution.

Ability to implement Quality Management System on projects effectively.

Capability of working with different agencies/departments like client, contractor, construction department, etc.

Working overseas or in the region essential.

Extensive and knowledgeable computer skills (CAE/CAD and database programs).

Fluent spoken and written English is essential. Arabic would be a benefit.
