The RoleThe Role- Lead the procurement of Packaging Material required for repacking & manufacturing operations. - Establish departmental goals, objectives and metrics and monitor actual results. - Deliver savings targets in terms of Year over Year cost reduction and cash in terms of extended payment terms and optimized inventories. - Develop Procurement roadmaps to: o Drive down the total cost of ownership (TCO). o Benchmark existing sourced products across other affiliates to ensure competitive pricing. o Develop and implement a database, covering key vendors and purchases to ensure widest understanding of the ongoing procurement activities. o Rationalize suppliers in each category without compromising the risk to the business as well as the quality of the categories. - Develop sourcing strategies and recommendations for spend and for improving existing sourcing arrangements, actively participating and contributing to feasibility studies, as required. - Compile and maintains company-wide Packaging Material position, payment, and delivery report to enable management to monitor and measure overall supplier and cost savings performance. - Liaison with vendors and internal stakeholders for development of suppliers, new packaging materials, and services in order to meet new business requirements. - Own and manage supplier relationships to ensure achievement of desired performance levels. - Review and raise Purchase Orders with approval, ensuring timely payment of suppliers/vendors, following up with vendors for timely deliveries, and maintain minimum rejection rate of PM. - Negotiate and contract with vendors for goods and services at the most competitive price, service and quality guarantees and schedule deliveries in alignment with the business objectives. - Negotiate blanket purchase orders when appropriate and monitor cost during the time period. - Negotiate settlements with suppliers on any issues that have caused company losses and expedite solution in relation to deliveries, quality, availability, and cost of purchased goods. - Establish payment terms for suppliers and work with Finance department ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments. - Have adequate market intelligence to procure new items as well as identification of new vendors/suppliers in addition to an in-depth of knowledge of PM markets / industry and spends associated therewith. - Provide commercial leadership and market insight to the business and monitor competitor activity. - Facilitate information flow between company and suppliers to increase availability of market knowledge and improve overall procurement processes. - Accumulate information as to supply and demand and other outside market factors to be able to evaluate price/value relationships and make recommendations in regard to positioning. - Determine root cause of supply shortages and develop/implement plan to avoid them. - Coordinate hedge positions and recommendations to upper management. - Assist the Operation and Supply Chain Management in planning activities and in managing lead times, reorders, and shipments. - Provide Intelligent forecast to prepare accurate plans and use budgets to manage and monitor performance. - Interface and communicate with Category Sourcing Team and other affiliates to ensure best practices. - Work closely with Quality Departments in formulating quality roadmaps to ensure key vendors are meeting the quality requirement. - Work with suppliers on Lean Processes to improve price, performance, quality, and availability. - Work with the clearance, logistics, and operations team to develop efficient, low cost supply chains. - Organize workloads of staff, delegate responsibilities, and supervise day-to-day operations. - Effectively manage personnel and be a resource on the team when workload requires. - Motivate, coach and develop procurement team to excel in role and advance; conduct mid and full year appraisals and promote individual development. - Monitor system transaction processes to identify possible enhancements. - Adhere to company policies, procedures, and rules. |
RequirementsRequirements- Minimum 3+ years of experience Managing Sourcing/Procurement of various packaging material. - Experience with a multinational FMCG company or packaging company is a PLUS. - Basic knowledge of carton boxes, paper bags, flexible packaging, plastic wraps, and other packaging solutions. - Strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with excellent interpersonal skills needed to effectively communicate across multiple departments / business units / stakeholders. - Strong organizational skills, creativity, and acute attention to detail and accuracy in performance of documentation and data preparation. - Cross-functional with strong negotiation and vendor management skills. - Excellent problem solving and decision making skills. - Strong market intelligence from reliable source of information. - Experience managing multiple tasks simultaneously. - Superior Data Management skills and Microsoft Office Suite applications with a focus on Excel. - Understanding of manufacturing processes preferred. - CPM or APICS certification is a plus. - Knowledge of ISO systems. Bachelors degree in Material Management, Engineering or Business related discipline (e.g. Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, Finance, Statistics, and Quantitative Business Analysis) or related field. |
