Employment: Full Time

A large Construction Company based in UAE is currently looking for Procurement Category Manager focusing on personnel and Non-Personnel Insurance requirements of the company. As Procurement Category Manager you will direct, plan, organize, and evaluate all insurances and ensure if they are correctly scoped / packaged and quoted against, by a defined panel of insurers. This job is based in Dubai and will report directly to Senior Procurement Manager.

Responsibilities:
• Manages daily non-clinical commercial insurance management operations including, but not limited to the:
• Preparation of Insurance applications;
• Renewal process;
• Maintenance of expirations;
• Review of insurance policies, endorsements and / or audits; seek enhancements of coverage;
• Review and process of invoices;
• Review and analyses insurance provisions of contracts;
• Oversight of reporting and processing of claims; review denials and / or reservation of rights letter;
• Maintenance, review and analysis of loss runs;
• Review of reinsurance agreements;
• Assistance in operation of captive insurers;
• Identification of opportunities for loss control / risk management, develops long and short term goals;
• Creation, implementation, and maintenance of a system to obtain and review incoming and outgoing certificates of insurance;
• Assists in construction / renovation contract reviews and insurance placement;
• Overseas operations and performance of insurance broker, Third Party Administrators (TPA’s) and other vendors; manages deliverables, reviews vendor contracts.
• Investigates new insurance products and identifies gaps in current coverage.
• Selects, develops, manages and evaluates direct reports to meet operational needs.
• Ensures implementation, evaluation and maintenance of operating policies, procedures and processes.
• Builds and maintains productive intra-departmental work relationships to optimise operations.
• Ensures operating compliance with government and agency regulations.
• Oversees the maintenance, integrity and management of records and information.

Requirements

Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field. Master’s Degree Preferred.
• Insurance related qualifications (e.g. CII qualifications / certifications or from any other recognised global body).
• Minimum 7 years progressively responsible experience including operating knowledge of commercial policies, insurance regulations, reinsurance agreements, captives and managing a team. At least 3 years of experience should be within the GCC.
• Maintains a current knowledge of insurance industry trends, programs and developments.
• Working knowledge of actuarial reports.
• Working knowledge of MS applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Basic ERP system user experience (e.g. SAP, Oracle), eBusiness tools (e.g. Ariba Sourcing Module).
