Growing Food Security Industry

Our client is an inter-governmental agency for the country of Qatar who were established to devise a holistic solution to Food Security and for developing the Qatar National Food Security Master Plan. The Master Plan for Food Security focuses on improving food security and economic diversification through the development of industry, research and technological innovation across the sectors of Renewable Energy, Water, Agriculture and Food Processing. Our client is thus now looking to recruit a Procurement Coordinator to support the development and implementation of the Food Security Master Plan.

Reporting to the Manager your responsibilities will include:

• Analyze market and delivery systems in order to assess present and future material/service availability.
• Control purchase department budgets.
• Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies and procedures.
• Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials.
• Prepare reports regarding market conditions and merchandise costs.
• Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers.
• Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to the company policy.
• Review , evaluate , and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids.
• Administer online purchasing systems.
• Locate vendors for materials, equipment or supplies and service providers and interview them in order to determine product availability and terms of sale.
• Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
• Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
• Prepare bid awards requiring board approval.
• Represent companies in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers.
• Processing the travel request of the employees, consultants and guests during the absence of the concerned staff.
• Arranging accommodation purposes during the absence of the concerned staff.
• Performing any other duties as directed by Management

Requirements

Attributes we seek include:

• A degree in Materials Management/Purchase Management.
• At least 5-10 years of relevant experience. At least 2 years experience in Qatar preferred.
• Basic knowledge of administration & management, economics & accounting and contract management.
