Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

We are seeking a Procurement Coordinator to carry out the purchasing activity for Lafarge, a leader in building materials. You would be required to meet the procurement requirements of different departments at competitive prices and within a stipulated time. This role would be based in Kuwait.

Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Order Placement Timing, Supply / Demand Alignment, Material Replenishment as per the business needs and urgency.
- Follow in letter and spirit the Lafarge Code of Conduct and ethics. Comply with all the internal control standards, policies and procedures.
- Availability of raw materials on daily basis is extremely critical to the company's core business of concrete. To co-ordinate with the Production Manager and Plant
- Supervisors to ensure uninterrupted supply of materials in the plants.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance team for requirements of spare parts, consumables, lubricants, tyres, load, fork-lift, suspension brakes amongst others.
- Continuously monitoring, evaluating and improving supplier performance. Reduce cash purchases to the bare minimum.
- Sourcing the most affordable materials for the company's manufacturing and maintenance activities. Regularly contacting suppliers to renegotiate better prices and terms.
- Projecting stock levels. In particular to identify minimum and maximum levels for critical parts.
- Reviewing and analyzing bids / quotes and finalizing requirements in consultation with the line manager/s.
- Controlling the purchasing budget.
- Monitoring delivery times to ensure delivery of items on time.
- Ensuring the adequate supply of all required materials, components and equipment.
- Delivering cost savings for the company.
- Managing the procurement supplier relationships for the company.
- Developing sourcing strategies.
- Maintaining proper records and documentation.
- Promoting best practices across the company in line with Lafarge Group policies and procedures.
- Working to create and promote a safe working environment. Adhere to Lafarge health and safety guidelines.
- Generate periodical reports as prescribed by the management from time to time.

Requirements

- 3-7 years of experience
- Proficiency in English and working knowledge of Arabic is a must
- Computer proficiency is required. Must have experience of working in an ERP environment. Proficiency in any software such as JD Edwards is a must
- Any educational qualification. However, technical knowledge is a must
- Candidates from Ready-mix, Heavy-Industry, Oil & Gas sector are preferred
