Job description / Role
One of Saudis top construction company is in a lookout for a Director of Procurement to Plan, organize and direct the Procurement team based in Riyadh.
Responsibilities
- Develop policies, procedures and systems to establish a highly efficient and cost-effective procurement function harnessing the benefits of automation in an ERP environment thereby minimizing paperwork and speeding up the process.
- Employ innovative cost-saving and resource optimization means including innovative procurement solutions such as strategic horizontal & vertical integrations, JVs, partnerships, etc., to establish a sustainable procurement source for critical items.
- Prepare & control budgets, strategic reports and presentations for top management.
- Create an effective team of professionals to effectively drive and deliver results.
Requirements
- Graduate Engineer (preferably Civil or Mechanical)
- 20 years in procurement function of a large construction company with multiple projects across various verticals with last 5 years in a similar role.
- Management of contracts, sub-contractors, warehousing & logistics
- Thorough knowledge of FIDIC
- Must have handled a procurement portfolio of approx. USD200m a year
- GCC experience with exposure to the Saudi market an advantage.
- Exposure to ERP (SAP, Oracle SCM module)
- Strong ethics, organizational, communication & leadership skills to organize and direct a large department.
- Excellent problem solving ability with keen sense of urgency to meet stringent project deliverables within time and cost parameters.
- Expert knowledge of strategic procurement, long-lead items, rentals, sub-contracting & vendors
- Strong negotiator with thorough knowledge of contractual legalities.
