The Role


The Role


Our client is a global oil and gas company employing more than 10,000 people and with offices in over 25 countries worldwide. We are currently looking for a Procurement Director to be based in the UAE with responsibility for a global portfolio of projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction
- Coordinate the procurement side of proposal preparation
- Review and negotiate contracts
- Act as a negotiator between the company and suppliers
- Attend project review meetings
- Ensure excellent customer service is provided across all departments within procurement
- Serve as an operational and technical resource to all project procurement staff
- Survey customers to assess department performance
- Survey markets for price and delivery information
- Ensure functionality of procurement cycle software and hardware systems
- Implement health and safety procedures
- Communicate strategic issues and changes to the team
- Interview, hire and manage the materials management team
- Monitor and communicate team goals and achievements on a regular basis
- Identify training needs for the department
- Establish and implement short and long term organisation goals, objectives, policies and procedures
- Design, establish and maintain an organisation structure
- Develop and manage annual budgets
- Analyse complex bid tabulations for compliance
- Establish guidelines for potential strategic alliances with major vendors
- Act as a custodian for procurement policies and procedures and of procurement modules in major applications including ERP

The successful candidate will be degree educated and have 15 years experience within Procurement preferably within the EPC, Oil and Gas industry.
