Procurement & Logistics Manager

Job description / Role

- Development & implementation of procurement & logistics policies & procedures.
- Developing companys purchasing strategy
- Forecasting demand for goods and services.
- Supervision of all day to day activities of procurement & logistics department.
- Conducting research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality.
- Liaising between suppliers, relevant internal departments and customers
- Negotiating and agreeing contracts and monitoring their progress, checking the quality of goods provided
- Verifying invoices for payment processing.
- Keeping contract files and using them as reference for the future
- Forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities
- Giving presentations about market analysis and possible growth
- Producing reports and statistics using computer software
- Planning, training and supervising the work of other members of procurement & warehousing staff.
- Supervising receiving of goods from suppliers & their distribution to projects
- Ensuring proper inventory control
- Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing security & safety procedures
- Ensure good physical conditions of warehouse in terms of building and equipment
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation

Requirements

Minimum five year experience as head of procurement management in Kuwait preferably in a food/catering company with annual procurement turnover of over US$ 20.00 million.

Excellent English. Well versed with Kuwaits market. Full knowledge of policy & procedures related to procurement & logistics. Knowledge of procurement related software preferably ACCPAC. Good negotiation skills. Ability to draft contracts.

Degree/Diploma in procurement & logistics. Other combinations of education and experience that meet the minimum requirements can be substituted.
