Procurement Manager – FMCG (Bahrain)

Excellent Procurement Manager Role is available with one of the most well-known FMCG Company worldwide. This position is responsible to Develop and execute with excellence country procurement strategic plans incorporating the inputs from the region, country Business Units and Plants. As a member of the Global Procurement organization, represent Procurement in local Board of Management, ensuring consistency of Regional Procurement programs with country programs, acting in line with the overall Procurement vision and the strategies set by regional Category Groups,

Responsibilities:
• Leads the development of BU/MU specific procurement strategies. Ensure BU/MU strategies/priorities are understood by sourcing group and effectively supported by appropriate sourcing strategies
• Responsible for the successful delivery of all Procurement related growth/innovation, cost & supply risk management, customer service and quality initiatives for the BU/MU
• Build and leverage network across Procurement organizations (Commodities, R&P, IM&S Sourcing groups) to service BU
• Ensure that Company objectives are met in terms of P&L, Volume, and Operating Cash Flow;
• Maximize the value of the supplier to the business and ensure contract adherence. Ensure local supplier development where required to support the procurement of direct and indirect material requirements, change analysis and other business development requirements. Ensure that work is managed on-going with the local suppliers to develop capabilities and find creative ways to reduce costs.
• Lead control and improvement of buying activities by using the appropriate measurement system. Together with Tower leads, identify global or regional opportunities within the area for optimised costs. Actively identify country specific initiatives on-going to fully leverage synergies. Harmonize the country bidding procedures and analyse local and regional markets and suppliers. Analyse local supplier performance and take actions to prevent/resolve quality and service issues.
• Responsible for budgeting all MPL raw, pack and indirect.
• Manage setting of business targets and appropriate action plans; ensure optimal allocation of resources to achieve targets set. Ensure optimisation processes in place. Ensure local implementation of regional or global supply agreements, guaranteeing that global agreements are used to the fullest extent possible in the area.
• Establish the appropriate contacts within the Procurement organization
• Identify and ensure allocation of resources needed to deliver upon BU strategies. Manage resources to achieve agreed upon results
• Manage, lead and participate in Procurement projects across the region, leveraging application of Smart Tools

Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:
• University degree (Business Administration, Economics or technical degree is preferred).
• Business experience of 7-10 years, within Supply Chain (Procurement, Manufacturing, CS&L)
• Very good knowledge of English language; Arabic is a plus
• Excellent knowledge of Procurement procedures and processes
• Good computer skills (MS Office), business applications (SAP) (preferred)
