International Shipyard Operator
Procurement function (ensure supply of materials at the right time and cost)
Annual Salary Package USD$98K (all inclusive) + family benefits
A challenging opportunity now exists with this major shipyard operator as they are seeking to appoint a Procurement Manager (Regional) based in Dubai.
You will have full responsibility for operational and functional activities and setting the strategy & guidelines for the department, driving process and efficiency improvements.
Ensuring adequate and economic stock levels are maintained.
Controlling consumable budget and Capex requirements.
Ensuring Procurement Strategies and objectives are in line with company guidelines.
Developing and implementing inventory management strategy to enable the provision of a cost-effective and professional service throughout the company.
Effective and efficient management of procurement activities.
Ensuring optimum use of resources, equipment and manpower.
Work with other business units to deliver savings and efficiencies.
Implement and review the department processes for continual improvement.
Ensuring company policies, authority levels, OH&S, Environment and Quality Management System are followed.
Developing a Supply Chain Management reporting mechanism with other team members.
Minimum 5 to 7 years in a Procurement Management role in a similar business
Relevant experience of a range of procurement categories within a Shipyard, Heavy Marine/Offshore Engineering or similar business.
Degree Qualified and with further professional qualifications - CIPS preferred
Sound knowledge of international trade & shipping terms.
Broad knowledge of computerized stock control methods & warehouse procedures.
Project management and tender reviews experience.
Excellent command of written & spoken English and Arabic.
Experience within Middle East an advantage but all candidates will be considered.
