Procurement Manager Shipping - Dubai, United Arab Emirates

A Multinational shipping company is currently recruiting a Procurement Manager to be responsible for procuring terminal, feeder and husbandry services in West & Central Asia region. This position will enter into new contracts as well as extensions, negotiations with vendors and management the contracts and vendor relations during contract lifecycle. As well as to work closely with Marine Execution, Capacity Desk and Cargo Execution for daily management of tasks and to drive achievement of feeder and terminal SLA’s and performance. Reporting General Manager, this position is based in Dubai.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Procurement of all feeder, port- and terminal services incl. husbanding
• Supports development of contracts and implement service level agreements for feeder and terminal services procured.
• Gives input to feeder and terminal procurement strategies.
• Daily monitoring and revision of spend within the areas of responsibility giving supporting analysis and benchmarks for manager.
• Supports in execution of (re)-negotiation pipeline on annual basis.
• Coordinate with internal as well as external stakeholders to ensure local, global and legal requirements are met.
• Actively build, expand and govern relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders (including suppliers and Port Authorities) through the fostering of knowledgeable close interaction, mutual respect and by practising empathy.
• Benchmark costs with competition and ensure we are cost competitive
• Perform supplier market analysis
• Organise market intelligence for ports, terminals and feeder operators in cluster scope

Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:
• Recognised further education certificate in a relevant subject area such as / finance/ economics and/ or experienced in liner operations.
• 1-2 years’ experience in country operations, capacity execution or other relevant department/function.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• Strong team player with flexible attitude to working hours
• Good communication and presentation skills
