Job description / Role
Our company is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead the overall management of their procurement requirements for contracts and internal needs throughout Afghanistan. This position will be responsible for managing material flow in an efficient and fiscally responsible manner to meet the goals and objectives of the Company and the Customer.
KEY POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Manage vendor relationships using negotiating skills to leverage best service for price, terms, delivery and quality of components
• Able to creatively solve moderately complex problems through critical inferences, evaluation, and analysis
• Research, evaluate, and develop a supplier network to allow a more diverse set of procurement options
• Manage and monitors contracts with existing suppliers
• Identify and record any problems relating to purchased products and provide recommendations and solutions to identified problems.
• Provide leadership in Operations by providing support across all departments
• Work closely with Accounts Payable regarding invoicing issues
• Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy
• Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling, and distributing materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies
• Develop and integrates procurement management tools, templates, methods and processes in compliance with company policy
Requirements
In order to be considered for the role the successful candidate must have experience in the above responsibilities and match the following criteria.
• Educated to a minimum of degree standard with 5 years relevant work experience
• Minimum 2 years Afghanistan experience in a similar role
• Experience with USG projects in Afghanistan preferred
• Superior communication skills and the ability to maintain a positive work environment is critical to this role
• Due to the location of this position, applicants must be physically fit
