Procurement Manager

Job description / Role

On behalf of our client, a Marine Infrastructure company in the United Arab Emirates, we are now recruiting for a Procurement Manager.

JOB PURPOSE:

To provide strategic leadership and direction to the entire Procurement team and manage the internal and external business environment effectively.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES (linked to Objectives):

• Prepare, implement and monitor strategic business plans for growth in turnover and profitability of the entire spectrum of the procurement product.
• Monitor and review the financial performance of the Procurement/Purchasing better buying, enforce adequate reporting and control mechanisms and ensure corrective actions are taken to keep the company’s performance aligned with the annual business plan of the Company.
• Drive the formulation and effective implementation of policies, processes and systems in Procurement of Good and Services, Information Technology, and coordinate the requisite buy-in and approval from the General Manager and Heads of Department.
• Promote optimal utilization of the organisation’s resources by managing people and infrastructure productivity, driving continuous improvement and cost reduction, ensuring quality production and capacity utilization in line with industry standards and business strategy of the company.
• Drive and institutionalize world-class quality standards across all processes and products of Supply Chain, through effective quality control and quality improvement initiatives in line with ISO & Environmental aspects.
• Continuously drive technological upgrades, process improvement and new product development/innovation.
• Drive the development and implementation of customer friendly systems and procedures for Procurement, thereby facilitating better and easier access to Supply Chain products.
• Facilitate intra and inter departmental coordination, monitor their smooth functioning and promote synergy and harmony in their interactions.
• Facilitate harmonious employee relations and create a conductive and congenial environment in the company for promoting creativity and innovation amongst the employees.
• Maintain business relationships with all other business partners to protect and enhance the Procurement image in the best interest of the company at all times

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

• Chartered institute of Purchase and Supply (CIPS) or similar Supply Chain Management qualification.
• 10-15yrs procurement experience including purchasing, expediting, QA/QC, materials management and contract execution issues.
• Experience in developing good supply chain practices.
• Knowledge of construction design management regulations
• IHOSH Health & Safety
• Environmental impact in supply chain management
• Knowledge of Institute of Civil Engineering (ICE) and FIDIC forms of contract
• Knowledge in the management of plant and equipment.
