Job description / Role

This person would directly report to Supervision Procurement.
Position Purpose:
Assists the Procurement & Contracts department with follow up with vendors on receipt of purchase orders and delivery of goods or services and with the set up and maintenance of a filing and record system for all department documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Contacts vendors regarding receipt of purchase orders and on the delivery of goods and services. Follows up as required on delays, order changes, damaged goods received or other related issues.
Liaises with vendors regarding current product availability and pricing and information on new products or services of interest to the University.
Maintains the Purchase Requisition Status Report on the General Services intranet and familiarizes user departments on its usage.
Establishes and maintains a filing and record system for purchase requisitions, purchase orders, contracts, vendor information, supplies and services catalogues and related department documentation.
Assists other department staff as required with procurement duties.
Perform other similar or related duties as and when assigned by the Manager, Procurement & Contracts.
Requirements
Position Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Business Administration or related field.
Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) desirable.
3-6 years related procurement experience.
Customer service focus; effective negotiation skills; effective interpersonal skills.
