Procurement Specialist

Job description / Role

Our client, a leading oil and gas company here in the Middle East, is looking for a driven and professional Procurement Specialist to join their team in Dubai.

Reporting to the Procurement Lead the Procurement Specialist will manage and control the sourcing, purchasing, inventory control and logistics operation of the business.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Managing the purchase of small to large value items which are often very technical.
- Negotiate with local and international vendors
- Offer support to other departments on compliance for approved sourcing guidelines
- Purchase process improvement
- Facilitate significant cost savings through alternate sourcing of material, product evaluation, lifestyle costing, competitive bidding and price negotiations with suppliers.
- Ensures materials are delivered in a timely manner
- Monitors and controls inventory

Requirements

- Relevant degree
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry
- Excellent command of the English language and a strong communicator
- Firm negotiator
- Computer literate, working knowledge of Microsoft office packages essential, highly proficient in ERP/Maximo systems.
