Procurement Supervisor

Job description / Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen to work for a large manufacturing organization in Dubai.

To plan and carry out purchasing function to ensure that goods and supplies are purchased at the most competitive prices and are of the required quality.

16k AED a month.
- Assist in the development of purchasing policy to ensure that the company makes the best use of its purchasing power
- Negotiate contracts with the suppliers who meet the companys requirements to secure the most favorable terms of business for the company
- Receiving purchase requisitions for consumables from different departments as well as all divisions spread over Middle East.
- Keep all contracts for the supply of goods and services under review to ensure that they are being carried out effectively and renegotiate terms where necessary
- Maintain purchasing budget to ensure the effective monitoring and control of all purchases
- Maintain an awareness of any developments in the field purchasing or with suppliers to ensure that the company continues to apply the most effective policies and procedures
- Communicating with the supplier incase material rejections, delays, handling discrepancies and dispute which may arise during the execution of contracts
- Follow-up suppliers to ensure uninterrupted material supplies, this includes explaining and clarifying the technical specifications, arranging samples to ensure that it conforms to required specification
- Prepare approval forms whenever applicable for the capital items purchase and getting signed from the management
- Prepare local purchase order (LPO) from the system and answer queries from Accounts department as and when required related to LPO and/or invoice
- Overseas orders for the machine or parts link to consumable system
- Identify and develop new suppliers, service providers and continuous evaluation
- Coordination with transportation and shipping companies for the arrangement of necessary logistics at economical freight rates

Requirements

- Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing or construction environment.
- Good understanding of purchasing procedures and practices (international and domestic)
- Excellent negotiating skill
- Service oriented with a sense of urgency.
- Solid experience in Inventory Management and systems
- Good analytical and reporting skill
- Exposure in ERP system
- Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering or Business Management or equivalent.
- 28-35 age
- Manufacturing background only
- UAE experience at least 2-3 years, 3 years home country
- ERP or SAP knowledge
- Have supervisory experience
- Experience in freight, technical buying and admin
