Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job Purpose:
To support the Materials Coordinator, to procure materials at optimum value and deliver sustainable, year-on-year improvements in financial performance through improved supply practices.

- Under direction, analyse procurement spending.
- Apply analysis methods for determining best prices while maintaining a high standard of quality and services.
- Prepare reports indicating price comparisons.
- Consult SA business leaders to develop and implement area and product / services strategic sourcing plans to deliver sustainable, year-on-year improvements in financial performance through improved supply practices.
- Engage with area Superintendents to understand their business, the business needs and profit drivers.
- Apply sourcing skills to develop a program to deliver secure, sustainable sources of supply and extract maximum value.
- Apply industry knowledge and leadership skills to develop the capabilities of key vendors to secure long-term, sustainable, high-value supply.
- Collect, analyse and report sourcing and supply data to inform leadership decision-making.
- Analyse the industry and the market place to identify opportunities for SA.
- Analyse spending and identify opportunities to improve in the form of recommendations.
- Consult with the business to agree on opportunities, goals and approach.
- Track, manage and optimize value, savings and total cost of ownership.
- Ensure good knowledge of Business Warehouse reports.
- Action the SA Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) routines to maintain high EHS standards.

Requirements

- Degree plus 3 years of relevant operational experience.
OR
- Diploma plus 5 years of relevant operational experience.

Sohar Aluminium was formed in September 2004 to undertake a landmark Greenfield aluminium smelter project in the Sultanate of Oman and is jointly owned by Oman Oil Company, Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC - TAQA and Rio Tinto.

The smelter has an annual production capacity of 375,000 tonnes of high quality Aluminium.
