Product Procurement Manager – Raw Materials
A multinational packaging company is currently recruiting for Product Procurement Manager to be point of contact between Raw Material principals/ suppliers, logistics team and Sales Managers as well as completing Raw Material trading portfolio. Reporting directly to Product Manager, this job is based in Dubai.
Scope of Tasks
• Maintains an excellent relationship with Raw Material principals/ suppliers
• Search best deals from the suppliers by looking for the best quality material at the lowest possible cost.
• Coordinates / provides operative support to local offices for the Raw Material division
• Collects market information (new materials, prices, trends, etc) and provide feedback to the trading team by supplying them with the necessary information on raw materials in order to advise their customers on raw material directions
• Manage the necessary documentation and online forms for the efficient, cost-effective and lawful execution of all import/export activities
• Acts as conflict resolver/interface for all segments
• Ensures compliance with contractual obligations
Requirements
Scope of Responsibilities
• Sourcing new Raw Materials principals/ suppliers as needed as per market demands
• Monitor the process from inception through completion and interact with key players to get feedback on all aspects of the raw materials
• Negotiate contracts for sales/purchases and manage renew, review contracts as required to enable effective trading, operations and customer/supplier relations
• Plan and implement import/export strategy and activities consistent with overall aims and requirements of the organization
• Manage/liaise with stock control, warehousing and distribution activities influenced by or reliant upon import/export activities.
• Establish quality assurance specifications with the suppliers
• Responsible for continuous improvement of the Raw Materials policy and process
• Generate special sample, catalogue, follow up and general business letters. Interact with vendors to discuss production, sample requests, shipping, vendor errors and other pertinent issues.
• Understand and react to changing market trends in order to assure a competitive advantage. Also monitor and report to the management on competitive products and industry trends
• Supervise the entire Raw Materials team, i.e., coaching the team and provide leadership to build the critical capabilities within the team
• Responsible for administrative duties i.e., confirming the terms of all contracts, licenses, insurance and liability agreements for each source used
• Provide support and assistance to fellow team members of the raw material division, as needed, in order to meet the company/team goals and sales budget.
• Provide sales and product expertise for overflow and bounced calls from Sales Team where immediate assistance is required and the Sales Team is not immediately available, offering a seamless transition to the sales process whenever possible.
