Production Manager - Joinery / Furniture (FE&E)

Job description / Role

Our client, a leading tailored furniture / fit-out company in the region who has state-of-art joinery plant, is seeking to recruit top-notch professional to head the production function in the factory.

Reporting to the Factory Operations Manager and leading 600 workforces, the incumbent will be fully accountable for the entire production process in the factory which should be in-line with the projects requirements as well as clients expectations and needs. Managing all resources and the entire production process in order to meet the projects lifecycle is essential to this job. In other word, effectiveness and efficiencies are a must. Keeping quality up the Standards and cost within the given budget are crucial factors to the work.

Accordingly, the job-holder will:
- Participate in drawing the factory business plan in line with overall company objectives
- Draw production plan for current and projected jobs in order to ensure smooth flow-work of all jobs.
- Manage engineering team and ensure getting the required details for production process.
- Arrange materials samples to obtain clients approvals
- Interact with purchasing team in order to ensure the availability of the approved materials to on-time in place in order to secure a smooth production process.
- Enhance productivity by adopting the right resources-allocation on labor and machine wise.
- Periodically monitor the production process / work-progress to ensure meeting the deadlines.
- Implement ISO procedures across production process as well as ensure safe work environment.
- Provide other department by all required technical information in order to ensure the overall company goals.
- Participate in selecting new machines as needed.

Requirements

- Should have Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- Should have at least 7 years of work experience in major joinery and Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E) industry.
- Should demonstrate hands-on experience in manufacturing process gained from being working with reputable joinery firm.
- Should possess excellent knowledge about all type of machines that used in joinery business.
- Should demonstrate the ability to manage high number of workforces, 500 labors and above.
- Possess good knowledge about materials that used in production.
- Should possess excellent knowledge about health & safety best practice
- Should have fair & general idea all kind of used materials and able to participate in selecting the ideal materials for each project.
- Should be highly organized and able to prioritize work as per deadlines for each
- Should have in-depth knowledge about specification of normally used materials.
- Should demonstrate hands-on experience in Total Quality Management (TQM), Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or any other similar environment is a must.
- Should demonstrate hands-on experience and in-depth understanding of ERP/MRP systems that related to manufacturing environment
- Computer literate in MS office including Word, Excel, Power Point & Access
- Should possess excellent communication skill both verbal & written.
- Should demonstrate excellent skills in writing professional reports.
- Should be team player and possess excellent people & managerial skills.
