Job description / Role
The Production Manager is responsible for the management of all processes, procedures, outputs and deliverables for the Video/Documentary filming group.
The role works closely with the Client and Film Team to ensure that the department outputs are aligned with the production schedule as well as the creative vision for each project. The Production Manager will have day to day oversight of all aspects of the video team, including: Artists, Videographers and freelance/casual talent.
- Need to recommended process improvements to enhance production capacity and quality.
- Investigate problems, analyse causes and define resolutions.
- Ensure the final weekly, monthly and final deliverables meet and exceeded the requirements of the clients.
Requirements
Must have:
A strong grasp of the film/television industry with experience to back this up.
In-depth understanding of production the procedures and best practices the industry follows.
Experience in, planning, coordination of team members and schedules, skills in managing processes and implementing and running systems to ensure deadlines are met by staff and deliverables are achieved.
An understanding of the following procedures per production, production and post-production.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Four-year degree in video production, multimedia, or related field (or equivalent) and 15+ years of related work experience, including at least three to five years of experience in a project management or leadership role.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Working knowledge of MS Office and video and animation software such as After Effects, Premiere, Final Cut Pro, 3D Studio Max, Adobe Creative Suite, Lightroom,Photoshop, Media Encoder and Adobe Audition.
Proficient on both Mac and Windows. Experience in all windows based programs is a must.
Thorough knowledge of production scheduling and related processes.
Ability to perform in a lead capacity.
