Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Prime Objective:

Under the guidance and authority of Operations Manager, the Production Manager is responsible for managing the production department.

Key Tasks:
1. Safety : Maintain safety work environment by taking action to correct request for preventive and corrective actions (health/safety committee) and on a daily basis, inspect working installations and environment.
2. Assist the smooth running of the health/safety committee of the DIP plant by ensuring the availability of the required resources.
3. Ensure that all applicable training is given to the production personnel.
4. Quality : Keep up to date all procedures applicable to the production department according to the ISO 9000 program.
5. Collaborate to the development and revision of procedures related to the department.
6. Ensure that the production procedures are respected, trigger of corrective actions during non conformity, apply the preventive maintenance system and ensure that the quality control is done on raw materials and finished products.
7. Environment : Implement the procedures of the environmental management program applicable to his activity sector.
8. Collaborate to the development and revision of procedures related to the department.
9. Ensure training related to the environmental management program.
10. Planning: Ensure efficient planning of resources (raw materials, personnel, equipment) according to the production schedule established for each department.
11. Production : Maintain product availability at a minimum cost while increasing the productivity and aiming constant improvement.
12. Manage the research for solutions by pre established circuits.
13. Ensure the implementation of the solutions and corrective actions.
14. Human Resources Manage the work teams (performance evaluations, delegation, training, implication in problem solving and decision making)
15. Logistics : Ensure that all raw materials, intermediate goods, packaging and finished products are used and stored in order to prevent any loss.
16. Participate to the development and implementation of equipment purchase or equipment modification projects according to the investment plan established and in collaboration with the QC and Project Manager.

QA/QC

1. Ensure compliance with the company’s Quality Management and Environmental Health & Safety Management Systems.
2. To undertake any additional responsibilities or duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or manager commensurate within the position.

Requirements

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience in assisting the development and extension of existing production facilities in order to increase capacity and/or diversify operations
• Computer Literate and willing to upgrade his skills
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Ability to effectively work in a multi-gender, multi-national work team; whilst displaying particular sensitivity towards cultural and ethnic differences.
